Also, ever had a vehicle break in? I have twice at the pier, and even had a lock box in my jeep, guess what? It got ripped out..

I probably was taking a chance....but there were plenty other vehicles a lot nicer then my beater to get into.... the short time I was there....and being from out of state and one that isn't reciprocal with Alabama....well....most wouldn't have a gun from Ohio....I just have 2 permits that allows me to carry in Alabama :yay: :ring  :headbang:Bill..............

Re: You carry?
ChileRelleno---You're right, I never even noticed. Most of the folks I'm around in the outdoors this time of year are carrying, so it just didn't register. It isn't a bad idea to carry out there since you never know who'll be around and you are a long way from help in time and distance. I am glad you pointed out the part of the regulation about carrying in the State Park---I was not aware of that. Good to know.

Re: You carry?
I alternate a CZ75-P01 with a Glock G19 for everyday carry loaded with Speer 124gr +P Gold Dots. I was carjacked at gunpoint while I was in nursing school-vowed that I would never be a victim again. I don't carry on our pier but do when I fish in PCB because the crowd there is much more on edge and have seen violence take place on several occasions over the last couple years.

Re: You carry?
Took the ferry from DI to Ft. Morgan today.
The Ferry Capt/crew and I have a standing agreement, I keep my firearm 'Out of Sight, Out of Mind' on the ferry, for various reasons.
As a ship's Capt he could easily refuse my boarding, but he was initially very cool about it and explained his reasons, e.g. company policy & MarSec Regs.
But out on the point, I again Open Carried.
Other anglers and touristas saw it and none of them freaked out , and apparently no one called the police, since no police showed up with weapons drawn and ready to shoot me down.
Imagine that. :

Re: You carry?
I carry a machete fishing at times plus a couple of other hidden weapons just in case I meet up with a moron or 2.

Re: You carry?
always carry up here fishing in the boat....I come back in shortly after dark, to the ramp that is usually empty and you just never know who might be there to great you....I hope the boy will keep them busy for that moment needed to aim and fire .....but pray I never need to....the best fishing seems to be 1 hour before sundown .....and before that just fun fish to catch, but the table fare is what is sought after for me....the other is just a bonus

Yeah, and just like that the telemetry from the site went down (at 1:06 this morning). They should get it working again Monday. Generally speaking, king mackerel are about our most sensitive fish...
