Re: rope length
I know it is a little late but here is a link to the rope I use.

I have found it to be the best all around. It is a solid braid that does not pick up many splinters or hooks. The best part about it is the price. It can be found in the store typically on the very bottom shelf.
One suggestion would be to put a large float of some sort on the end of the rope just in case you may drop it.

Also Splice the float in so You can quickly undo it if you need to tie it to a bucket to dip water for whatever reason. A little trick John G showed me

Re: rope length
Okay, here it is usa. It is 5/8 in. reel smooth and soft feel to it. It does pick up hooks and splinters sometimes whenever it is drug against the pier but I like the way it feels in hand and so do other people that use my net.

This looks like it on Home Depots website. I bough mine by the foot, not a roll, so I can't remember how much it was.

Re: rope length
Thanks for the pics and web site . They give me an idea as to what to look for at Home Depot . You think 35 ft. of 5/8 is about right ?

Re: rope length
It's enough for Gulf Shores pier. But you would want to have about 50 ft for others.
