Last bump. Tired of looking at it in the way. Gonna give it away after that.

Take it to the pawn shop. Get something for it at least.
Screw it. Let's ride.

Tried that. The few I took it to only took combos, not just rods. I got one place I can take it to and get maybe $10 out of it or may be able to trade it if he has soemthing in store I might need. Was just hoping for more cause this rod is worth way more than that.

Work a trade for a better reel or two, and sell it back as a combo. For some reason the "captiva" reel and rod name have kind of a bad rap as being crappy and cheap. You might be better off advertising as a "Penn" rod since its got a better reputation and the rod looks fine. Just an idea.

Take it to dicks and trade it for a croix. I think they give a $20 credit toward a new st croix purchase with any rod trade I .

Don't have the money to afford a St Croix and really don't need another rod right now. @Tofer, I have heard the bad raps on the Captiva stuff and I have yet to see it. I fished that combo for a couple of years no problems from my kayak, dunking it and all. That thing still worked like brand new when I sold it last week. And the rod is an awesome rod. If I got out on a boat more, I would hold onto it and get another reel for it because it is a tough solid rod. There are a couple hole-in-the-wall/junk buy/sell/trade stores here in Pensacola that I have been in before. The last one I went in had an old school Eagle Claw ultralight rod(one of the yellow blanks) with wire guides in great shape with a crappy reel on it for $20. Might see if he still has it. Kinda liked it.

Gone, gone, gone!
The very best fishing experiences do not end with a measurement, which would only ruin the dreams.
