Re: penn battle 1000
Braid will definitely spin on a reel if braid is the only line on the reel--especially if you add line conditioner.
Add at least enough mono backing to cover the reel base, double uni to your braid, and it will no longer have any chances spinning under any circumstance.
A fierce is just a lesser version of the battle and conquer.
Just go with the sargus as DRH suggested unless the cosmetics is most important. That said, all 3 of those Penn reels are effective and you won't go wrong getting any of them. I bought my son the entire fierce line awhile back, and when all my gear was stolen last november, i ended up "borrowing" and using his fierces, and was pleasantly surprised at how well they perform for the price, not to mention their line capacity. I am still using a few of them today without complaint.
As for actual UL fishing, though, i truly love the feel of shimano saharas. You should consider that one imo.

Re: penn battle 1000
I don't know of a spinning reel that doesn't have an anti-reverse. Some reels have selectable anti-reverse and others have full time nonselectable anti-reverse. Is that what you're asking about?
Just go buy a reel already! Seriously find one that feels good to you, is in your price range and is cosmetically appealing to you. Those three constraints should be the only things you should worry yourself with. No, not all 1000 series reels are created equal, but difference in quality amount to almost nothing in terms of fishability in a reel this size. As an ultra-light newbie you probably wouldn't appreciate any differences or use them to your advantage, if you were able to notice any of them at all.
Sorry to be so blunt, but the sooner you stop asking so many questions the sooner you make a choice and get to fishing. Once you're fishing you will start building experience and you will be able to answer some of these questions yourself.

Re: penn battle 1000
In the 1000 and 2000 sizes the Fierce, Sargus and Battle reels all have selectable anti-reverse. Infinite refers to zero back play before the AR engages.
