Are the reds around during December and January? What kind of live bait can you catch during that time to catch reds? I just didn't know if the LY's are still around during the cold weather.

in my experiance you cand beat a 6 inch curly tail jig with a 3/4 ounce jighead for catching surf bulls

I catch my own pinfish in a pinfish trap or cast net or i use mullet cut into chunks (2inchs) the heads work alot better its got alot more stank to it.... i'm sure J&M will have some kinda bait for ya just ask and they hook you up :fishing: :headbang:

Thanks guys for the help. I'm just wanting to find a good way to spend time with my son during his last winter before heading to college. He's really gotten into saltwater fishing since we moved back to Alabama from Atlanta.

i caught zero flounder up on the tennsaw ; went to faitrhope the water was clear ; got 6 small flattie; nothing over 15 inches; way take the boat to see if there is any shrimp; big white shrimp; hope the grass is gone were we can drag; if not see yall on the pier ;sunday[ have a grreat day]

Educate me a little bit if you will. What are good turbidity numbers? If you can check those stats and determine what the water looks like before you go, that would be VERY helpful!
