Re: Whats your "Weapon" of choice for kings
The only thing I have that stands out is the 40 year old Betts fiberglass rod that has been rebuilt. I have a 750 Penn on it with 15# Momoi. I'm looking forward to having a new favorite when John finishes the stick to go with my Penn 550 bait runner with 20# braid and a top shot of 15# Momoi.

Ugly stix medium with Okuma 65, lol, killed a few Kings with it, however, I have just today bought a new rod from John, and put my Okuma on it, would really like a pre-owned VS-200 reasonably priced : ) Oh, 15lb high vis top shot with 20lb braid.

Stradic ci4 4000 on my American rodsmith titanium serie mf rod, 12 lb pp super 8 slick for lure or stradic fj 5000 on g loomis imx serie light action for live bait. those two are Lightest of my collection and strong enough for most inshore species. Maybe that's the reason I find myself picking those two setup over my collection of custom rods on van staals and accurate. I use my vs and accurate for surf fishing or offshore.

[font=comic sans ms][size=12pt]He usually reels in his own fish, but this was a big Redfish and he yelled at me to take the rod. It finally got in the pilings and cut off.
btw, after that he started using my rig.

Re: Whats your "Weapon" of choice for kings
I don't always kingfish, but when I do, I prefer Penn 706 (15# Ande-clear) on my custom 7 foot Seeker (LB 704).
Stay hooked up, my friends.

My cig slinger is a 704 with manual conversion on a John G custom. 12 or 15 lb trilene big game.
My artificials rig is a Zebco Cardinal 7 on a 7 1/2ft uglystick 12 lb trilene

Well, I looked and it seems there is an app called AL Coastal Observing System but it seems to be locked and says to contact the owner. I don’t understand.
