Overnight trip on the Emerald Spirit with a bunch of Pier Rats. I'm just sad because it probably was one of the once in a lifetime trips. Just ask anybody that went along. Don't remember if FinChaser posted any pictures of our trip but would love to see them again it was a great trip.

My most memorable one was flounder fishing. I was fishing in the pass on my 16 cape (wish I still had it). My brother hooked a fish and we could tell it was big. My buddy who let's just say was very big walked over to net the fish when it came up. My brother was fishing on the front and when my buddy walked to that side of the boat the boat leaned heavily to that side, and in the water my brother went. They handed me the rod and I reeled up a 25 inch flounder, and I netted it. To this day we argue over who caught that fish.

110 lb yellowfin on an overnight trip out of Destin where we went west. Took just under an hour to land and I was the only one on the boat who landed one of the big ones completely by themselves (everyone else handed the rod off when exhausted). Caught him on some sort of little (4 or 5 inches) jack type live bait flatlining under the lights of an oil rig. The odd thing was - I let the boat drag the bait a little when we took off. The captain had said "reel em in, let's move" and I was VERY reluctant to reel my bait in as I had seen big yellowfins flying through the air after bait in the area. About ten feet of dragging him behind the boat and that tuna smashed it like he had stolen from him. So the first ten feet or so feet of fighting I was slammed against the rail and was a little dinged up.
20+/- lb striper below Guntersville dam. 12 lb mono and a 5500 ambassadeur on a star bait rod. Big threadfin shad and a half ounce of weight in good current. Caught a 13lb hybrid about three casts later on the same outfit.
Huge flathead catfish on crappie jigs/4lb mono/ultralight rod (6 or 7 from 10 to 20 lbs). This only happens in the marina I used to live in. I go try to catch a few crappie at a friends boat from time to time.Last edited by Geno; 02-05-2019 at 11:37 AM.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
