Good old fashioned white mackerel jig. I hear them called Looney Jigs on here.
Bubble rig with a McDonalds Straw or a Clark Spoon.
Spec Rig, may need to add a small egg sinker in front of it for weight.
Smallest LY you can catch, short wire leader, fished about 2' under a cork.
Tail-end from larger LY. Cut the LY diagonally from the anal fin up to the dorsal fin. Snobble like a cigar minnow.
I free-line my small LY. No float. Spanish tend to aim for the float sometimes, cutting your line.

Re: What to throw for spanish
Not sure, but I think a can catch more fish with Looney Jigs for a lot less money.
I get upset when I lose a Cobia Jig; might have to call 911 if I lost one of these things.
They are spreading across the area, saw this at Dick’s in Daphne/Spanish Fort today.
When did Dick open his open store? WOW!

If I come to town this weekend, I will bring one. I am going to put one on my 750 w/30 LB test and rig the Alabama Rig with gotchas.
If not this week, next week for sure. Im gonna limit out in two casts.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
