Sept. will still be hot, wait for October.
    Bring a thermocell.
    And a fan.
And ant spray for the perimeter of the tent.
Lots of coolers to keep food & catch cold too.

Do those Thermacells really work stik? I was thinking about buying some because the mosquitos are so bad up here this year.

Have had a thermacell for years. From Ontario bear hunting in August to Mid TN turkey and early dear seasons they have worked great. It is however pretty much a personal thing. It will not clear out an entire campsite, Have used one in a 10 x 20 outfitter tent and ran off every form of winged pest. Not sure how effective in area prone to 10 to 15 mph winds.

I Camp at the state park on a regular basis. In addition to the tent bring a screened enclosure. Keep it zipped up and put oneor two thermocells in it and you will be fine. The fan is a necessity regular box fan from Wally world works great. I saw a setup last weekend down there where the tent campers had purchased a window AC unit and took flexible hose (like attaching a dryer) and piped in into the tent with the windows and doors zipped up the tent bellowed up and they said they almost froze because they did not want to get out of the tent to change the temp. Thermacells work as well as advertised. I've even had them be effective on a windy morning in the turkey woods when the skeeters were thicker than cream gravy. Be cautious with them in an enclosed area---I've used them in a box blind in warm winter weather and it's a treat to see the little biters go swarming out of the shooting ports---but after a few minutes, the fumes made me start coughing and made my eyes water.

The fumes are from the thermacell inserts are rough even outside if there is no wind stirring. I have bow hunted Land Between The Lakes in late September where the skeeters are the size of hummingbirds and nearly get carried off on the way to the stand. Within a minute of firing up the thermacell they were gone. Sometimes I wonder how I ever hunted without one.
