the best way to find the yellowjacket underground nests is just before dark. They will be returning to their hole from foraging. Follow them. Once you locate the main entrance look for an emergency exit within 8 to 15 feet. Block it off. Pour a quart of gasolene in the whole after dark and the fumes will end your problems.

We had a frost here in SE MN. I hope it wasn't killing frost because the corn isn't ready yet, it's a good 2 - 3 weeks out. My bluebirds left and the bird bath had ice in it. The frost will kill the weeds on the trout streams and that will make it easier to get to the streams and to fish. It should also turn the trout into their Fall feeding binge, which I haven't seen so far.

I am so glad the one we had at or cabin by the walk bridge didn't have an emergency exit yet.....night time 2 cans of hornet spray filled the soft ball size hole and dead they were, except for a few stragglers that didn't make it back that night and they got taken care of the next day, at least the ones I could hit ....it appeared in a few weeks of not being there

Ray---The surest way to find a yellowjacket nest is to turn it up with your disc harrow. If they don't let you know as soon as you do it, there will be a cloud of stingers waiting for you on your next pass. Unless you have one of those wussy cabs like JohnG, you'll either be bailing off the tractor and running for your life or you'll manage to get the tractor in road gear and set a new land speed record for agricultural equipment with implements attached.
I speak disparagingly of JohnG's tractor, but I'm just proud to have had a part in buying it for him, just like I feel a little surge of ownership pride when my dentist drives by in his BMW.

Haywire there's nothing like motocross jumping terraces at 15 mph on a tractor pulling a bushog while swatting bumblebees. I am convinced this event is where new cuss words are invented.

It's pretty cool here in North Alabama. Only in the 70's and has been in the 90's.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
