No telling what might 'fit'.
But the inherent problem (at least from my point of view) with these newer reels (like Penn Spinfisher V) is the simple fact they have 'universal' anti reverse.
It would take some practice to line up the roller under your index finger each time.
IF you have to pause and look down at where the roller is you have lost a main advantage of a manual bail IMHO... just sayin

I was looking at the 6500 bailess and a lot of reviews I have seen aren't the best. Do yall know anything about them?

Is your going to buy the SSV spend a little extra and buy the torque bailless its a tank you will not be disappointed.

I take it you have first hand experience with the reel? Lol. Heard some pretty good things about them. I have honestly been considering splurging on a VS200 or a reel of equal quality. Will definitely take a deeper look into it. Thanks for the help!

​You might want to investigate the Daiwa Saltist, great reels IMHO

There is a guy who does super in-depth reviews of spinning reels Main - AlanHawk.com

He ranks the Spheros SW as essentially equal to the more expensive Saragosa SW. He hasn't published a review of the Saltist yet but it is well-regarded too. I haven't used one personally.

One thing to keep in mind before you drop serious dough on a high-end reel is that some manufacturers -- Shimano is terrible about this -- lie like crazy in their posted materials concerning weight, line capacity, drag capabilities, etc. Research a little online to find where people have thoroughly investigated the reels you are looking at to see what the true specs are.

I love the concept behind the Torque -- super tough, relatively few parts for the features. The Alan Hawk review says "Stellas and Saltigas will serve you well for 10-15 years with proper care, but with the Torque we are talking old school longevity to be passed to your children."

If only it wasn't so ugly!

I've been looking into this reel a lot this morning. Pretty impressive specs. The torque 5 has 38 pounds of drag and the torque 7 has 41 ( correct me if I'm wrong). Now I just have to decide if I want the 5 or 7.... tough choice haha

Top tier spinning reels like the Torque, Stella, Saltiga, etc have absurd drag capabilities. You mentioned cobia fishing -- an 80 lb cobia could probably pull out about 10 yards of drag set at 38 pounds. For reference I was shark fishing with about 28 pounds of drag when this AJ hit. The drag only slipped a few feet during the one minute fight. You will want to be wearing a harness if you fight a fish at a drag setting like that for long! The only time I set a drag above 40 pounds, I ended up ripping the reel off the rod (TLD 50II, broke the frame).

Very nice catch. And only a one minute fight? That's crazy. Really impressed with the torque. Haven't read anything bad about it. Other than surf fisherman who have dunked it and found a few tiny droplets of water inside of the reel. Don't plan on surf fishing anytime soon so I should be good in that aspect
