I am very much a local and regular fisher chick on the Gulf State Fishing Pier, thus I know and see the type of people we have on the pier regularly. If the city council were to come and observe the interactions that occur on our pier daily, they would comprehend why adding alcohol to the equation would be catastrophic. We already have days that fights would break out (if there weren't people big enough to stop them) without alcohol being involved.

    Contradiction?

Those confrontations only last a couple of minutes out of the day.

I'm being overly nice to you, also.

No opinion on the matter, just trying to follow the arguments.

How is this a contradiction? If you notice, I said that fights WOULD break out, and adding alcohol, the statement changes to fights WILL break out (no matter who is out there). My statement is not a contradiction of itself.

The point is, alcohol (be it beer or liquor) is neither needed nor wanted on our pier! Plain and simple!

Fin, let me know if the meeting will take place at City Hall. I will try to call the Clerk's Office tomorrow and find out. If I am able to reach someone, I will look and see if you have been able to confirm the meeting location. And thanks for all you do for this forum.

Beer but I drink Crown, anyways BAD IDEA but sure would make it a lot easier for the locals that drink (I want name oke1: any names) on occasion at the pier :spank:.

Craft said. "We didn’t have anybody speaking against it. It wouldn’t be that unusual for us to vote to allow that. I don’t see that as being an issue."
Was a notice of a public meeting ever posted at the pier?

    Just asking...
