I have a killer super double secret spot on the pier to catch Spanish macs and I'm not telling anyone where exactly it is on the southwest corner of the octi.

We fish at the pier three or four trips a year from Tennessee. The next trip will be the first week of July. I have made the drive many times with a mix of excitement (always excited to fish the pier) and a bit of apprehension (because there has been a negative report or a lack of any report the week before us heading down.) More often than not, I have found the fish to be biting, particularly if you aren't concerned with catching just the more coveted species. Besides, the people and location alone make it a special experience. When I am there, I am usually too busy fishing or cleaning and cooking our catches to share a report or pics. However, I do usually make a post trip report with pics, particularly if my kids are along for the catching...... Man, July 1st can't come quick enough.

All of my fishing is out of Tallahassee now so I never get over to the pier anymore.

I don't only make gaff's , jigs , and other things, like a converted bait cutting board/bait basket to hold a 3gl bait bucket to fit the pier cart without taking up rod spaces for use in the fall when the little ly's are present..... In stainless
but once a Christmas Star for the flag pole, 4ft tall and in stainless....red mini rope lights is all I could find...hard to get up and down 20ft without the 16ft step ladder from workBill..............

This is the friendliest pier I have fished anywhere in the country and this website makes it better. age and mobility issues have greatly reduced my ability to fish here but I still enjoy the site and hope to make a few more visits. No Facebook for me. I created a page one time and was buried in a day so I shut it down.

Hello,...First Time Poster.
I couldn’t agree more Mr. Oldfisherman.
I’m the classic “Lurker” here,..been reading since we went to Gulf shores last year and I fished the pier for the first time.
I really like forums, and this one in particular. Everyone is so very civil, fun, and,...well,...nice. I very reluctantly joined facebook this year (just to look at one particular memorial page a friend put up for a friend lost in High School).
Sooo,...I took a look over at the “Pier Rats” site some have mentioned here.
In five minutes I heard the words “idiot”, “dumbass”, “moron”, “stupid”, “ignorant”,..etc, People questioning others intelligence, politics, and social status...you get the idea. What a mess. Why do people feel free to say downright aggressive things to each other online when they’d never do that in person?
Why the big difference in tenor and tone over on the facebook page?
No thank you,...I’ll keep lurking here, and hope others come to the same conclusion.
I really like reading the Fishing Reports around ten PM when I end my day.
Thanks guys.
Steve

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
