Re: Re-packaging frozen cigs
John's right as always, that how I used to do mine. I would keep a few boxes in the freezer at the beginning of the season, and maybe bust one, and have bags of 5, 10, 20. That way depending on how long I had to go fish, I would only bring what I thought I would need. Its tough though to leave when the bite is good, but man do I miss getting to go all the time, and all the good friends out there.

Never know where the road will lead you. That's about the only thing that is certain in traveling life's highway. Keep the faith. The call of Mother Pier is strong, grasshopper.
Words of wisdom for today. :Screw it. Let's ride.

Re: Re-packaging frozen cigs
I have posted this several times over the years and will post it several more because it works. The key to making thawed minnows last is keeping them dry and not sitting in water getting soggy. Here's what I do with my thawed cigs if I plan on fishing within the next few days. Use a small glass baking dish and put some type of grate in the bottom of it so the bait won't be sitting in water,I cut up a plastic dish drainer that you use in a sink.Note that both of these things are not made of metal. Place your leftover cigs belly-up and dowse them with Bionic Brine or Kosher salt and place in the fridge uncovered. The salt will toughen the bellies and by leaving them uncovered, the moisture will be drawn. The next they will be a little tougher, day two they are as good as they will get and by day three the eyes will have receded into the head a they start to deteriorate. Give it a try,you won't be sorry. And keep them dry when you take them fishing.

I figure it this way, if everyone in the world had a lie clock, whose hands moved once every time they lied. You could use any politicians lie clock as a ceiling fan.

Baking soda in BB keeps the odor down and acts as a preservative.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
