    Last year I hiked to the very end with a 5 gallon bucket of live shrimp and 10lbs of tackle and took 5 rods. Going to huff it out there again this weekend to see if I can hook up to something with some pull.

    Better you than me... I'm getting too fat and lazy in my middle age to walk out there.
    But putting the yak in and going out is still do'able.

    Willie Ducharme was in his late 80s and would hike out on the rocks every day.
    That's where he caught the state record speckled trout!

    That's where I caught my biggest one ever. How big? Danged big! It was about 7-8 lbs and I caught it on Labor Day about 40 years ago. Nothing like Willie Ducharme's 12 lb. 4 oz fish, but it was the biggest speck I had ever seen. I caught a few big ones that day

    I don't know about sharks there, but one time I caught a small grouper on the side the gulf restaurant is on. There are also schools of bluefish that come through and they are a blast to catch on light gear, one thing to be aware of though are the pesky pinfish.
