Thread: Newbie redneck needin fishing pointers!

Folks, we had a great trip to Bammy! The fishing treated us quite nicely! The 15 year old son stuck with me pretty good and we caught 18 keeper specks 1st night and 19 the 2nd! The oldest son got up and fished one morning and caught an 18 inch red! I also put out some croakers in the late afternoons and caught gafftops and one blacktip! As for the specks we tried various lures but the best producers were a chartreuse curlytail grub and a D.O.A. C.A.L. shad in 330 pearl fished on a white jig head. Our results seemed to be better when retrieving fast to kind of match what the baitfish they were chasing were doing. It really was fun watching and listening to them SMACKING! Another highlight for me was listening to the tide coming and seeing it's effects! Thanks for all of ya'lls responses!
