Also, just basically read anything that #r or JohnG write. You can't help but learn. You can click on their name and view their profile - you can then read all of the posts they've written. Just cruising thru them will start to give you some insight into pier fishing.
Screw it. Let's ride.

Newbie here too
I took that advice and just sent Pier# an email about hiring him as a guide. We come down almost every year in the fall, and this year we've booked Four Seasons so we can fish that private pier. I'm lost as I haven't saltwater fished in a zillion years and then it was always with a guide. Husband and I are sure going to need some help. I'm scouring now trying to figure out what's most important to look for in rods/reels for saltwater and everything else we'll need to bring with us or buy there. Sure hope we catch enough to feed us for a week. We spend a fortune at Lartigues and Blalock's every year. Be nice to catch some of our own!

welcome to the forum,fishin4fun. I am constantly amazed at all the straight talk, and informed opinions about saltwater fishing that is shared by the members of this forum.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
