After Wieli showed me the dolphin I was telling Harley Rogers about it.
He reminded me of the one John Dotson caught in the 1980s, that was 12# or 13#.
And continued there was about about a dozen caught that day (I was not on the pier).
Most were just a few pounds, but several were nice (like 6#-8#).
They were coming in under huge sargassum mats on a strong E-W current.
The sargassum piled up so thick on the beach Gulf Shores hired bull dozers to come out on the beach and bury it.(RETIRED) mostly.
