There a couple of spots like that between the state line and Perdido Key. Might be some spots to check out.

While we are on the topic of sharking...

are there any castable conventional reels out there ideal suited for mid size sharks? I'm wanting to get something for a sharking trip that is a little heavier than my conflict 8000. I've seen some say the penn 4/0 is castable 25-50yrds, but a lot that say it's difficult. If I can't reliably cast to the Sharks, I'll look into renting a kayak instead.

I Don't think I'll make this specific trip. I will be down at the very end of April and then again in mid July.

Chili, I know you are an excellent resource for shark fishing. I currently have a Penn conflict 8000, which can handle the small sharks up to 5. I will probably be getting a FN Lethal 100 soon as well to do a similar thing. Assuming I don't have a kayak, think those two will do the job at Ft morgan? I like the idea of bringing a conventional, but lack of versatility, weight, and my inexperience casting them could make buying a senator a bad decision.

Oh man are you gonna be happy with your purchase. I have had mine since October and absolutely love it. But you probably won't need to bring yours. Few others have already stated they were bringing theirs so no need in carrying the extr weight for nothing.
