Re: King Mackerel rod & reel combo rental?
Really like the pier cart idea personally. I'm in the grocery business and was just eyeing up an old grocery cart to convert
but as cars get smaller transporting it could be a problem. Have gone out on the pier many times with just the basics
only to have to walk back to the car and get the cooler and then get ice. Great way to make extra profit is too come up with a new unique
idea. Getting the message out would be the key!

Offer an option with a guide included for a couple hours to show them the ropes, maybe? Rod, bait, and guide for $?$. Just a thought. Weeks worth of fun for not much.

I know a guy..Give a googan a king, and he can eat for a day. But teach a googan how to kingfish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years

I would at least require a 100 dollar refundable deposit upfront just incase. Plus the 50 then you get your money back almost if they tear it up. JMHO

what pierboy01 saidI figure it this way, if everyone in the world had a lie clock, whose hands moved once every time they lied. You could use any politicians lie clock as a ceiling fan.

Re: King Mackerel rod & reel combo rental?
Think it would be a good idea. I'm from Northern Wisconsin so my surf/pier fishing will be really limited. After reading about the crappy rental equipment at the pier I decided to purchase my own saltwater combo. Paid about $200.00 for it with my reasoning being I could at least use it for musky fishing up here.

Re: King Mackerel rod & reel combo rental?
I think it would be a good idea. I just stayed for 5 days and did not go out on the pier due to the weather we have had. But we also did not have the right gear for that type of fishing. My 15 year old knew that. Also what about the visitor that would want to fish off the beaches. Most guys from the midwest do not have long rods to make the necessary cast to get beyond the breakers. Rent some surf rods as well. And send a local kid with them to help out and pay him to fish. Someone like Ben_Mo_pelt or some of his buds. We spent the last couple of days yaking in a bayou catching a few specs. Fishing was good on Monday but learning to get a hook stuck in a spec was testing. Hopefully today will be better and then back to the snow.
