That's the reason I have not donated. If it's for a cause, why have several thousands in prizes but the revenue in tournament fees will be no where near that amount.

Pug,I'm sorry if you found my comment negative. I had a talk with Lisa yesterday morning and told her I would help her anyway I could and that I felt a cash donation would be better than a prize being there were so many. Once again,I apologize if you and others took my post the wrong way.

I didn't mean what I said to be negative either. Wouldn't it be great if the tournament brought in $10000? That's 500 participants, and how would that look on the octi? A $100 fee, certainly merited by those prizes, might keep those numbers more manageable and raise the same amount of money or more. But it's too late for that. Maybe more prizes could be raffled off? I hope nothing but the best in memory of this good man. I've played in many golf tournaments benefiting good causes that had a $100 entry fee....and not so good prizes. FWIW. It is the cause that counts.

I talked to Lisa last night and we came up with this:
Quoting the Tournament Rules:
"When you purchase your ticket your name will automatically be placed into the drawing. You do not have to be present to win. Winners will be contacted by June 8th. It is your responsibility to appoint someone to claim your prize or it can be shipped at your expense, all prizes must be claimed by June 30th."
If you want to donate more money to Brian's family, you can get your name in the drawing for every Tournament Ticket you purchase!
Purchase one $20 ticket, get one chance in the drawing.
Purchase five $20 tickets, get five chances in the drawing.

Sounds like there are quite a few out-of-towners headed this way for the weekend.
This tourney is the perfect opportunity to help out a good cause and possibly take home a nice prize all in one trip!

What about an address to just send a donation. Have seen many such benefits where a fund was set up at a bank or some where like that.

Stupid question---are tickets only available at the pier the day of the event?
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
