Went to BPS to give all these rods a shake, I will say the Mojo and Crucial are some dang fine rods, I'm talking real fine. Then I saw sitting on the end a Diawa Coastal same rating as the Ms and the Cs, but only in 7', not 7'6" like the other two.. It seemed to be just as fine a rod. It has the one piece handle instead of split but still very lite. It's is $40 less than the Mojo and nearly $100 less than the Crucial. Any disadvtages to this Coastal. I'm thinking of getting it with my BPS gift card I'd be looking at only about $50 for the rod. Any thoughts?

And to answer your question it's 6" short so you cast will not be as far. I rather over pay for a setup that I love than getting something I don't like for a great deal. And the stradic I mentioned above was mounted on a 24' ul st croix ice rod for shits and giggle mackerel fishing on the boat. It never got much use since I never really have time to fish anymore. I believe I still have the bag and the warrenty card and everything it came with. Reel only, no ice rod.

My thought on the rods is kind of like the difference between buying a yugo and a cadillac they both are cars and will get you where you are going but you know the rest of the story........... You get what you pay for. BTW that Stratic Sammy has is a good buy.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
