These models go out 10 days (scroll down on the right to "Model Data" for the controls). They are not very accurate past 5 days, but you can see if we are into a pattern.
FWIW, this is an El Nino year and likely to be erratic.
WunderMap® | Interactive Weather Map and Radar | Weather UndergroundPeople are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

I drove down Beach Highway to get a lottery ticket and couldn't even see where the east jetty rocks were at Perdido Pass---nothing but a mass of white foam all the way across. At the launching ramps at Cotton Bayou and Boggy Point, the water had covered all but the top couple of inches of the pilings. If I hadn't had all my fishing tackle already loaded in the car, I'd have had to stop and fill the back with sand to keep from being blow off the road.
At least all the rain and high water will wet the sand so my beach cart will roll easier when I go looking for whiting after the wind calms down.

Is this weather event strong enough to alter the contour of the beach profile and continuous sand bar?

Never, under any circumstances, ever become a refugee.
Die if you must, but die on your home turf with your face to the wind, not in some stinking hellhole 2,000 kilometers away, among people you neither know nor care about.

The water is so churned up it is hard to be sure but it appears that about 60 feet of beach is washed away at Four Seasons pier. Water appears deeper (good) and bar may be gone or moved. Fished 1 hour this afternoon and caught 12 big hardhead catfish. Nothing good caught. Wave still 7 to 8 feet high.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
