Re: fish cleaning
Only in Alabama would an effort to prevent commercial fisheries from dumping tons of waste result in recreational fishermen not being able to chum :violent
I've started burying them in the garden, feed the plants instead

This will soon become the new uniform for the pier staff and fishers if the park management sticks with his stinking plan. There is no way on earth that plastic garbage cans are even a temporary solution; IMHO

I lived next to hog farms and cattle operations; I could get used to anything if I had to, but I would not like to have to do that on vacation. Perhaps if it thins out the tourist crowd for a bit, sane people will be drawn into state decisionmaking.

Re: fish cleaning
In the past when I caught an early king or red I went to the station and cleaned it right away. I felt it was easier to keep the filet on ice in a ziplock than a whole fish sticking out of a small cooler.
I kept the carcass in a big ole bag under my pier cart just in case I got checked by the man and then tossed the remains on the way out. I don't know if that works for anyone else.

I just had a call from VG and he said he was interviewed today by Fox10 News about the fish carcass disposal debacle.
The interview should be on Fox10 this evening and tonight. He also said his wife did an interview on another station, 5 or 15, I forget.
Watch for the reports.

Everybody sing it with me!
Great big gobs of greasy grimey grouper guts, mutilated mackeral meat, add in some summer heat.
Great big gobs of green blow flies and maggot pies, and I ain't got no spoon! uke:Dealing with some REEL issues in your life? The DOC will see you now!

No, not yet.
Our Fox10 broadcast tonight was about the wild dogs shredding our van.
However, while at my home, I discussed with the newcaster about the fish carcass disposal debacle, and I will be providing him information on it over the course of the next few days, and we will set up a time to meet with them if their producer approves the story.
Stay tuned.
