Can I get a hug now?

Not a friggin chance.

If it's any consolation, you can now get away with calling me an "old man". You could even get away with "old dude" or even "old fart" if you prefer either of those.

Haha, it amazing what being respectful can earn. I'll shake your hand when I see you at the pier. Wait, I don't even know what you look like.

exactly how old is that??...just curious?? if it is old enough to be my Dad or older brother :boohoo:

Definitely not old enough to be your father, but old enough to be your brother. Whether or not older or younger brother, I don't know. I'm only 52, but I've been grey headed since my early 30s. It wasn't too long before dark headed guys, some only a few years younger than me, started calling me old this and old that. I have never had a problem with it, except when someone thinks they're offending me. Even then it isn't what they say, it is the fact that they are trying to offend me I have a problem with.

I'm kind of glad this thread got started and I will be the first to admit that that I have belittled or made negative posts about another members posts on several occasions. So for here on out lets all play nice and respect each other and show people why we are 1000+ members strong and still growing like a weed.BS like this could be the reason another forum that most of us loved went poof one day.......

Re: DRH, I'm calling you out!!
Sammy, what I look like is somewhat hard to describe since I look like plenty of other grey headed grey breaded pier fishermen. Except for probably being the youngest of the lot of us and definitely the best looking, it is hard to pick me from the bunch. I sometimes shave off my beard off. When I'm clean shaven and around fishermen, somebody always seems to tell me that I resemble Jeremy Wade or "River Monsters" fame. I really don't think I look like him that much, but we both have blue eyes, short grey hair, tanned faces and have fishing gear in our possession. I just wish I had his job, but I bet he wishes he could fish as good as me...ha ha.

Funny you should chime in on this, but glad you did. Remember back when you first joined that forum. You and I started off at each other a whole lot worse than Sammy and I had before we settled our differences. Look at us now and if you weren't there to read it yourself you would have never believed it.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
