    I am assuming the open frame is for demonstration purposes. I think I'd like a little more protection for the gears and their lubricant in a salt-water environment.

    It'll never fly..............Too technical...........Might catch a few gadget happy guys but rank and file do not want to have to remember to alternate casts................

    you are right, way too technical, I can't help but see something breaking causing it to invert back while a fish is spooling causing that contraption to "explode". Looks like they're trying to make a quick buck while re-inventing the wheel....
