[font=comic sans ms][size=12pt]+1 on the 1/4 inch mesh; with a 3/8 you will spend most of your time getting their gills un-hung from the net. Not to mention sticks and twigs.
There are some great private piers and ramps around to catch Bill Minnows, but you have to leave the motor running and be really quick. For some reason they don’t like the idea of strangers using what they built, at their expense. Go figure :
Somehow, that reminds me of something. ???

The shore shop on West beach is open, however they're having trouble finding early AM help, so opening has not been consistent. Friths was open last week but here again, due to health issues has not been consistent. Top Gun will reopen April 1st.

NOGive a googan a king, and he can eat for a day. But teach a googan how to kingfish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years

Re: Bull minnows
When you are throwing a cast net for Bull Minnows is there something you look for like them feeding on top of the water or do you throw blind and hope you get something?

Walk a sandy beach along the backwaters most anywhere.
The bull minnows (and finger mullet) will try to run away from you and when you see them 'flush' then throw.
Bull minnows are really easier to catch with a monnow trap though.(RETIRED) mostly.
