Re: Bubble for Spanish Macs?
I use both Looney jigs and a little casting creation of my own. The bubble rig works but the bubble busts and wont hold water after time. Most of the regulars have seen my chugger rig I throw with my old 6500c. Its the closest thing to a looney jig and belly strip I have found to produce Spanish. (Without using baby LY's)

Re: Bubble for Spanish Macs?
James how about a picture of your creation I haven't seen .....thanks in advance :headbang:
I just got a new mold and plan on pouring a few more jigs....spear head and shad head mold it will use larger hooks for the same weight jig head....a friend would use them with a gulp shrimp in Pensacola and tare up the flounder with it and with the wider gap hook the gulp shrimp leaves enough room for a good hook setBill..............

Bill, what weight do you cast on the spearheads?

the mold goes from 1/4 to 1oz....but mostly the 1/2 and 3/4 for the windier days worked great ....the one pictured is one of mine still trying to get better on the tying.... but they hold together good.Bill..............

Re: Bubble for Spanish Macs?
1/0-2/0 for the ones mentioned the ones I did before i used 1/0 only .....but just order some 2/0 for the new jig, and may get some 3/0 for that one I think the spear head 1oz called for a 3/0 ....I tried to find 635 long shank hooks for the jig but haven't yet.....might save on loses with a longer shank
still playing with it....never really did it before last spring pouring anythingBill..............

I don't care about a couple of pennies.
I would much rather give John & his crew my money than Wally-world.
Back in '95 when I first started fishing offshore, those guys gave us a lot of really good advice and didn't try to sell me shit I didn't need.
I tend remember good stuff like that for a long time........Carl

Re: Bubble for Spanish Macs?
Oh, and I've got gotcha, small diamond jigs and some white hair jigs. Just need to grab some bubbles to replenish my stock.
I do need to grab a few looney's. If any one who makes jigs will be down this weekend, I'd love to buy a few.
Look for the guy with a tan boonie hat & a goatee, pulling a red hand-truck with a wooden rod-holder!

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
