what size stainless rod do you use? I made one out of 1/4in but mine seems a little weak.

yes 1/4 in would be on the weak side, these are almost 3/8in, it is metric stock rod ....what they had at the salvage yard, a truck lost it's load and the salvage yard got it all....and some real nice rod too....was headed for a Honda plant local....they have stuck fish to 40 lbs maybe a little more and could double for a smaller cobia gaff....although for that I prefer them made out of 1/2 stock and longer prong's ....But I think these have stuck a few this past season??

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
