Imagine 4 gotchas hanging off the arms, being cast off the end by someone with no sense of what is around them. The 8 flying hooks of terror. uke:
Looks like it would be heavy enough to cast with straws -- you'd be able to pick up those spanish that follow the first one with the hook all by yourself.
[/quote]
You would need 20#+ line just to pull up all the Spanish on that rig.

Re: Alabama Rig
The fishermen in the FLW tour were using 65 or 85 lb braid

Hmmm
Needs more beads I think...
Definitely the opposite polarity from the 'stealthy UL approach'(RETIRED) mostly.

Hah! Not a chance.
I have seen one of those monstrosities in action. IF ANYTHING, it was good at scaring the fish away from it to other anglers. While he was casting that mini cast net, the fish would run over and hit my suspending lure downstream, as he spent his time hitting the bottom and working to get unsnagged.
That device might only be effective in deeper ocean water if you ask me. Useless for an inshore fisherman.
Even if it DID work, where is the sport in man-handling fish with the 50lb+ test it would take to accommodate that hunk of junk?
