[font=comic sans ms][size=12pt]Born in Mobile long, long ago. Spent my summers in Gulf Shores on West Beach about where Bahama Bob’s is today. Teen years were weekends in Gulf Shores at the real Handout and sleeping in the car.
Spent a lot of time fishing on west end of Dauphin Island and boat fishing while my son was growing up.
Pulled up roots and hit the road in our motorcoach for a couple years, lived in Montgomery for four years and finally landed back in Gulf Shores for the duration. No relocation plans for the future!

    Re: What's your story?

Well, it all began in Alabamy in 1832 when GGG Grandfather Joseph was born. He moved to Mississippi as a boy and moved his family to Louisiana in 1884. Borned and lived most of my 52 in the Sportsman's Paradise. Spent many a thousand of hours enjoying her outdoor bounty.
1st came to Gulf Shores as a toddler in 1962 and have been a regular visitor ever since. Now, a tidbit for you long timers--we stayed at the Seahorse or Young's by the Sea. A plug nickel for anyone who can tell where the Seahorse was.
Hazel's was just about the only restaurant in town.
Now the proud owner of a little place in Gulf Shores. Live in Enterprise and work on Fort Rucker. The circle has come full.
    Screw it. Let's ride.

    Re: What's your story?

Born in Clarke County, AL, and grew up in Grove Hill. Caught my first fish in the Bon Secour River in 1948. Moved to Orange Beach and bought a charter boat in 1972 and did that for 15 years until it finally dawned on me that I was doing a h#ll of a lot more boat driving than fishing. Lost my enthusiasm for salt water fishing for a long time until last year when I discovered all the good things about GSFP. It made me realize the truth in the old saying, "Allah does not deduct from the allotted time of man, those hours spent in fishing." See you on the pier.

    Re: What's your story?

    Why not.

Spent my first 28yrs seesawing between San Diego, SoCal & Lubbock, TX, with the majority of time in Socal.
Fished the Pacific coast inshore/nearshore pretty extensively, did the same for a lot of freshwater rivers/lakes in TX and once even managed a really nice week long fishing trip to Sitka, AK.

Got married and moved to Mobile in '96, it's been home ever since.
Fished a little when I first moved here, but long haul trucking got in the way.
Just got back into fishing last year and have been going at it every chance I get.
    Ragnar Benson:
Never, under any circumstances, ever become a refugee.
Die if you must, but die on your home turf with your face to the wind, not in some stinking hellhole 2,000 kilometers away, among people you neither know nor care about.
