Buddy of mine in Baton Rouge has 3'+ of flooding in his house.
And he is not in an area that normally floods.

I was watching a report on the flooding in LA, wow, horrible mess Some areas over there got 2.5' of rain over 3-4 days. Lots of people flooded out, and tragically, multiple fatalities.

Invest 99L is raising some eyebrows!
Potentially next week may be interesting along the upper gulf coast...

NOTE: this is just one computer model, but it doesn't bode well for those folks who are drying out from last weeks floods!

I already have my running shoes out and the cars gassed up. I don't like the possibilities for 99L either, since it has a lot of hot water to pass over in the next few days. Those things can get deadly overnight---even Jeff Masters on the Weather Underground has been hedging his bets on what this storm will do.

Just think of the massive chaos if it meanders a bit and gets here in time for Labor Day Weekend. Whoo, Baby! I'll make a fortune with my magic matter transporter, sending folks to safety in a nanosecond.

Having never owned property on the island was wondering if they turn the power off when a storm is hitting ? Thinking of coming down to clean out fridge just in case.

Yes, power and water and sewer. Depending on the strength of the storm. I think they only turn everything off if there is a mandatory evacuation order.

Will the blue resident sticker given out by The City Of Gulf Shores work as a pass to get back on if there is a mandatory evacuation ?

I don't know if the blue sticker is the same as the Re-Entry pass or not, but here's the information on how to get the Re-Entry/Beach parking pass

    No need to panic yet.
    Wait until Sunday.

That said, not a bad time to update your emergency supply of water, canned goods and batteries.
And propane for the grill/camp stoves for the power goes out and you are having to cook all the fish in the freezer before it goes bad.

Called the City and they said the Blue sticker can be used as re-entry pass.
