I know to be careful what I wish for, but....it has rained less than an inch here since mid-June. It is dry! Forecast is calling for chance of rain Monday night through first half of Wednesday. Through that 48 hour period, less than a half inch.

Very interesting evolution of the forecast track from the east coast to now the west of Florida and eventually into central Alabama.
The Tropical Storm Warning area is issued as far west as Destin and Monday through Monday night so now the Alabama coastal area is predicted to have winds 25 to 30 knots, though it's likely we may see some gale force gusts at some point.

Especially IF the track keeps 'creeping' westward!
I feel for Florida, and have 1st cousins in Orlando and St Augustine who chose to shelter in place and face the wrath of "Irma" rather than face the nightmare gridlock on I-75.
So needless to say my family is praying for their safety and the quick demise of this epic hurricane!

East & Central AL is going to get it worse than we are here on the coast, looks sorta like Opal all over again.

People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

Naples is getting a 'beat down' this afternoon...
Naples, FL on USTREAM: This is our live unmanned a camera system placed underneath a home along the beach road of Kitty Hawk North Carolina. Feel free to ...
Note the dry air intrusion in the southwest quadrant.
This should help weaken the hurricane eventually.Last edited by Pier#r; 09-10-2017 at 04:07 PM.

As of 7:00 pm Irma has taken a jog to the right and sucked in a bunch of dry air, significantly weakening it. There will be damage, but a lot of people may be spared a lot of pain.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
