It's a good point. And it's not just the rain. With Irma, there will be hurricane-force winds all across FL and on into GA, likely. Downed trees means downed power lines and some real damage to people and property. It is and it's going to be a monster-storm!

Eventually, I'll call the Gulf Shores area my home for about 6-8 months out of the year. Thinking November to July....August to October is usually pretty nice up in O-H-I-O....

Well with the shift its coming to Atlanta , by the time it get's here it will be a lot of rain and 30-40 mph wind ,

I was out in the yard looking at my tree's trying to guess witch were most likely to drop and what was under them

Did clean all the pine straw and junk out of all the gutters , that never ends ,

If you are going to fight, fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and brother, it's starting to rain!

Well, if you're making a mistake, I'm making the same one! We'll be leaving Memphis bright and early headed that way. I hope I can squeeze at least one morning on the pier to meet some of you fine folks!

Prayers sent for all affected, that's 1 reason I'd never make a permanent home on any coast, winter birds may not be such a bad idea these days,as much as I love the coast I refuse to roll the dice and loose what little I have

FWIW, the NAM_HIRES model has Irma skirting by Tampa and making landfall around Panacea, about 60 miles east of Apalachicola. This is well within today's "Cone of Uncertainty."

Why does this make me think of Maxwell Smart and the "Cone of Silence?"

Grouper may be headed our way.

People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.

If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

As of this morning the eye of Irma is in range of the Key West long range radar.
