I hope we're all as happy with the next president in two years as we are now.

Yea, coach. Buyers remorse at this level might be really bad. But we will survive as a nation, whatever, however, the future unfolds.

I hope the following will happen in no particular order:
1) the truth about Fast & Furious will be exposed
2) the truth about the IRS scandal will be exposed
3) the truth about Benghazi will be exposed
4) the truth about Obamacare will exposed
5) those who broke laws during the Obama years (including Obama) will be prosecuted
6) the ammo market (especially for .22LR and .22 magnum) will return to normal
7) fences will be mended with our allies - especially Israel, Poland, and the Baltic states
8) Obamacare is repealed
9) people like Zeke Emanuel and Gruber will be held accountable for Obama Care - at least be publicly humiliated for their academic fantasies
10) a Fair Tax or Flat Tax is enacted as law and the IRS abolished
11) energy regulations will be repealed, our Oil and Coal industries reborn
drill/dig, drill/dig, repeat
12) the military will be fully funded, rebuilt and completely modernized
13) Iran gets hurt
14) After seeing Iran get hurt, Russia and China pause to think about things and retreat
15) something gets done about N. Korea, or they get hurt too
16) the military is allowed to freely pursue and kill all terrorists - all of them, anywhere, anytime
17) the mainstream media gets reformed somehow
18) the D.O.J., I.R.S. and State Department are cleaned-out from top-to-bottom.
Then we start getting rid of other federal alphabet agencies.
19) Political Correctness is gone forever, and things get told like they are
20) law enforcement agencies are allowed to do their jobs - especially border patrol
law enforcement is held to a higher standard and overseen by an independent agency
all officers and cruisers are equipped with cameras/audio that can't be tampered with
21) the Left's appeasement of enemies is forever forsaken
22) truly conservative supreme court justices are appointed
no so-called 'interpretation ' of the Law and Constitution
Its not a living, breathing document, just read it, it's in black-n-white print.
23) Public Sector Unions are outlawed
24) drug Cartel leaders are killed - period.
25) manufacturing returns to the US due to our new low low tax rates for them
26) all in all, American strength and respect are restored
27) the Constitution and Bill of rights are restored to their rightful place as Law of the Land
28) all laws passed must pass a Constitutionality test before being signed
29) a Federal Balanced Budget amendment is added to the Constitution
30) we get the hell out of the United Nations
31) ambassador John Bolton becomes Secretary of State
32) George Soros dies mysteriously
33) when people start rioting and destroying public/private property... We shoot them
34) Kimberly Guilfoyle of FOX News comes to her senses and marries me.Ragnar Benson:
Never, under any circumstances, ever become a refugee.
Die if you must, but die on your home turf with your face to the wind, not in some stinking hellhole 2,000 kilometers away, among people you neither know nor care about.

Gotta remember he's a real estate developer, who owns lots of restaurants. High end restaurants.
I'd be very surprised if he's a friend to recreational fisherman vs. commercial.
But who the president is really doesn't matter, without Congress changing the Magnusson/Stephens Act and putting more funds into fisheries management, nothing will change.Carl

And the cesspool that is our Federal Gov. is still in D.C., and in power, thanks to us, the American people who repeatedly re-elect them.

It's not going to get better for recreational fishermen. I've mentioned before that I like to prepare sailcats and remoras and I've suggested that other fishermen give them a try. What I didn't foresee was the day that sailcats and remoras would be all that fishermen are allowed to keep! And then that'll be gone once the commercial guys develop a market for them!
On a related note, did I see where the triggerfish season would be closed for all of 2017?
(edited to add) Here it is!
NOAA Fisheries announces that gray triggerfish recreational harvest will remain closed in the Gulf of Mexico for 2017, or until further notice. NOAA Fisheries has published a temporary rule modifying the gray triggerfish recreational annual catch target to zero pounds, and the annual catch limit to 19,987 pounds whole weight for 2017, due to an estimated 221,213-pound harvest overage during the 2016 recreational fishing season.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
