winds have switched to WNW in Gulf Shores as the tstorms quickly exit eastward...

8pm winds still SW 25-30 knots.
@ 4:36pm there was a peak wind gust @ Ft Morgan of 51.2 knots.

Mobile County schools are closed!
I came in early to beat the storm.
At 7:31am here at 5 Rivers and it is pitch black outside.
I'll check in after the squall line blows through if the building is still standing.Carl

8:40 am Midtown/Downtown Mobile just had a bout of HEAVY rain mixed with pea-sized hail. Winds 'ordinary' so far.
maybe 2" of rain in an hour!
Round 2 is on the way by 9am...
