I'll be able to say tomorrow evening if I can be there with a couple of gallons of chili. I don't know, does anybody think that's a good thing?
It will be noonish before I can get there. I've never been to the picnic. Is it an afternoon thing?
Edit: I make a fairly ordinary, but tasty, ground beef, black bean, and tomato chili, not too peppery. Not one of those dishes that tries to knock your socks off. Tabasco on the side.

If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

It's usually an all day event but last time I was there noon was about right to eat. I stand corrected in the FB page it says 11 AM.

Well, there are three people already bringing plates and cutlery so I rescind my offer.
I will bring some food of some type.Ragnar Benson:

Meeting Friday at 10 AM on the Octi to try to cover what everyone is bringing. Everyone that can come is welcome the more the merrier. Bring any helpful ideas and suggestions. Could somebody with a printer copy the list and bring it with them.

I think I'll make venison chili instead of Taco Pie---my recipe is similar to yours, no need for the fire dept to be on hand. Spicy, but not hot. I'll bring saltines to go with it. And bowls.
I'm still bringing apple cole slaw, and if you've never had it, you're in for a treat. It's a real biggie at hunting camp.
Sorry you won't be there with us.

I'll vouch for George's Chile, it is good stuff.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
