I loved doing the picnic and letting J&M Tackle pick up the tab for bringing 75lbs of BBQ along with other things, but when I got chewed out for asking a member of this forum not to load a couple plates heaping with meat to take home while some of you watched and thought it was funny and nobody stood up for me knowing what was going on. Shame on you people for allowing one of your friends to take several pounds of meat home while dozens of others were left without.

Didn't know anything about that John. Really sorry to hear that happened at all. I've missed your cooking since you used to do that and appreciated it very much as I'm sure we all did. I for one would not have tolerated that either, but I think you also know most of us pier rats are not like that at all. Im sure I speak for the rest of us when I say WE MISS YOU!

Ragnar Benson:
Never, under any circumstances, ever become a refugee.
Die if you must, but die on your home turf with your face to the wind, not in some stinking hellhole 2,000 kilometers away, among people you neither know nor care about.

There is always that one self-centered freeloader that thinks if something is free, he is entitled to take it all.
Nothing is free, somebody had to pay for in one way or another. Takes the fun out of giving.
That said, I missed the picnic last year, but from all I heard and the pics I saw, David and the GS Pier Rats did a great job on short notice!
I suspect this year will be spectacular!

Sorry guys, but I had to finally vent about something that happened almost two years ago. The thing that put salt in the wound was a couple weeks later when that person told me he couldn't till next years picnic. After giving myself a 24hr think it over period,if David would like for me to bring a load of meat,I would be happy to do so.

John g no good deed goes unpunished. 75lbs of pulled pork up here in North Alabama would set you back about $8 per lb. You could put it out in smaller containers one at a time and label them "one serving per person please" and leave the rest in an insulated container or cooler until needed. I thought this was the year I could make it but I'm working that weekend-off before and after. I hope the food is good, the weather is warm and the bite is red hot.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
