At least that will save you a reboot, and all you have to do is reopen your browser...
That worked for me when it happened to my computer at home.

My grandson fell victim to this "Microsoft support" scam. Daughter walked in and found that he had turned over computer to these helpful souls who were concerned about my computers performance. She shut them down but since I had no idea what sort of spyware had been planted I decided it was a good time to retire the old machine. Hopefully they didn't have enough time to download personal info.

These folks are worthless scum who need to redirect their expertise to good works. Otherwise I would applaud anyone who could flush them out of their rat holes and give them a good pistol whipping.
    Haywire and bodebum like this.

Short rope / tall tree works for me.

People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.

If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

It would be fun to reverse their infection back into their systems program, if anyone knew how.
