You gots ta aim it like its a rifle when they are that close. Just as in bow hunting half the fun is seeing how close you can get them vs seeing how far away you can hit one. The 101 is for AFTER the hunt.

Thank God somebody finally told me how to do it right. I always wondered why I put that red dot scope on my shotgun---now the truth has been revealed and the light dawns. Now maybe I can determine whether to keep blowing that bugle call or just settle for a loudspeaker for my MP3 player. Hafter quit callin' them cluckers in so close---shoo 'em away afore I shoots 'em.

9 shots for me to get a gray squirrel running at me,(and almost up my leg) darn full choke 410 ,2-1/2in shells unloaded 5, missed, 2 more misses, then put in the 3in he was laughing at me on the side of a tree(15feet), shaking his tail.... 2nd 3in one got the job done....new gun for the grand kids and never shot it before....but sure was able to miss easy.....an expensive squirrel and the last time I ever used that gun again....I do better with a 22 pistol.

I've always maintained that the .410 is a gun for experts, not kids. It's hard enough for me to hit something with a 12 ga. That .410 was my first shotgun when I was a kid, and I couldn't hit the ground with it if I dropped it---gave me a complex that I'm still not sure I've conquered. When I finally got my hands on a 20 ga., squirrels began to die. I fully agree about the .22---at least it has good sights on it.

Been a lot of wild turkey sandwiches. I started helping my dad make the turkey callers he sold back in 1955, but wasn't able to call up my first gobbler until 1960.

I joined the club with you this morning Haywire!
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
