Congrats to you and your BIL George. In case anyone is reading this and doesn't turkey hunt or barely does it would be hard to appreciate the difficulty in getting one killed for somebody else usually. And if you took the corn pile and the pop up blind out of the equation even more so.
I've been tasked with taking 14 hunters to their first turkey and a bunch to their 2nd, 3rd and more. A book or at least a decent short story could be written on the mishaps that can occur. Nothing is more heart wrenching than finding a bird and calling him to your toes and having your hunter miss (four occasions) his first bird. Or the gun wasn't loaded (once) or he shoots the decoy instead (once). And there is always the guys who cannot be still no matter how much you insist.
But when it comes together......

another day... 4 hens and 2 jakes crossed the road onto property I have no access to
shortly thereafter, I spot 2 toms 400 yds out in the field(7:30am) I let out a couple yelps and got their attention. They start SLOWWWWLY making their way our direction. Fast forward to 10:30 they are finally at 60 yds and closing. Suddenly one of the hens flies back over from across the road and takes them off in the other direction.
This was this past Saturday morning.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
