Must have hit a cold pocket here at my hunting camp in Clarke Co. , AL. Went to start up the fireplace and the flames kept freezing and falling off the ends of the matchsticks---had to use a butane lighter. Swept up the little flame buds carefully, except one got caught in the broom and caused a minor conflagration when it thawed out.

Great Lakes for my boot camp, BEE, a school and c school. I spent right around two years there. I was present for the lowest temperature on record in the Chicago area in January, 1985.
As a kid from the Caribbean Islands who had never been further north than the Smokies, it was tough for a while."Something which threatens your life is a problem, everything else is an inconvenience."

Never, under any circumstances, ever become a refugee.
Die if you must, but die on your home turf with your face to the wind, not in some stinking hellhole 2,000 kilometers away, among people you neither know nor care about.

Chicago is setting the rails on fire to keep them from separating as they shrink. "White sand NOT white snow".
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
