This time of year i check in almost every day. When fishing should start heating up (this year, please, kings and cobia), it is several times a day. I can account, then, for at least my share of the traffic decline....

I look at the forum several times a day, probably a little more when the fishing is better. I want to thank everyone that post reports. I have been downsizing my life in hopes of retiring well before my full retirement age of 67. A few years ago I thought I may be able to purchase something in the general area but the sharp increase in property values has about taken me out of the game. At the very least I hope to be a "snow bird" along with some well timed trips in the spring and fall. I hope the forum stays strong, I enjoy it more than words can express.

I check in here a couple times a day , Post when I have a question or something relevant , I keep planning on coming down but with In-law's in PCB that are getting on in years my wife wants to see them , There's 2 Piers their so GS Pier will have to wait a bit .

This time of year mostly all the Fishing Forums are slow

I usually check every day but post only occasionally. I spend a month every fall at Four Season and usually make it to the state pier at least once that month. At my age and physical limitations the Four Seasons pier is easier for me. The news about the state pier is extremely important to keep me informed on what is going on. I usually make at least one other trip in the spring for a week or two and stay various places. Sometimes I squeeze a summer trip in. This week I considered a short couple of day trip to provide my wife a shopping trip to the outlet malls but the weather forecast was just too poor and the fishing reports tend to point to dirty water. In any case I just want all to know that I appreciate your reports and hope they continue.

Yeah with almost 300 views in less than 3 days on this thread alone we can safely say these forums are NOT ready for the scrap heap just yet ;-)

This forum is alive and well-we have some exceptionally fine contributors that go to a decent amount of effort to keep people in the loop. I hear a lot of complaining when the reports don't pour in as fast as some would like but some of those people seldom go to the trouble to post themselves.

The forum is a good source of information but that's not it's primary purpose. The key is the sharing of information and ideas. I'll take this opportunity to thank Pier#'r, Haywire and eym-sirius for doing a lot of the heavy lifting. It's because of members like y'all that I care so much about our forum.

I sure do like the forum format and end just about every day with checking the forum.
I am no fan of farcebook,....it’s ten miles wide,...and a half inch deep. Lots of “posts” that are just one or two words, or some weird saying or whatnot.. I don’t know what to call em, but sometimes it seems there’s some joke or info I’m not privy to and I don’t understand. So I guess because of that I’ve looked at that site maybe five or six times in the past few years, while I consider this site required reading. Sometimes I ration myself (especially this time of year when there’s not much happening) and skip a day or two so that I can get a few posts built up when I hit the “new posts” button and I’ll have some good reading to do.
There are some really good writers who post here, and you can really get to “know” some folks if you pay attention. Yes, it’s easier to post pictures on farcebook it seems,...but sometimes a thousand words is worth a picture.

Winter fishing doldrums and pier-closure anxiety (will it, won't it, when and how long) have made watching and reading the participation mode of choice. But we'll be back.

I'm closely watching this forum, along with the weather channel, to determine when the warm spring weather is really going to set in. That way I'll know whether or not to shave my legs in preparation for wearing shorts for the rest of the year. Don't want anybody to miss seeing my varicose veins.
