Gotta say, shelled Purple hulls cooked with a little fatback and a side of freshly sliced tomato, sure are good and don't forget the Sweet Tea.
Hay, glad the flag situation is resolved.

The deer eat the greens, and the trick is to plant a large enough area that they won't destroy the planting by eating the peas as soon as they sprout. Deer don't care much for the peas themselves, but turkeys and quail (if any still exist) like the peas when they dry---of course I'll be plowing under the remains to plant winter plots.

I haven't tried planting peas but the farmer that plants a 22 acre field on our place has had every bean killed by deer both times he planted them. I bet they would probably kill two acres of peas pretty quick.

I still enjoy hearing a morning "Bob white" when outside at work. Still quite a few out there

Hearing the nighthawks and whippoorwills at night out at Ft. Morgan makes us remember our times around this old home place here, when their voices were common place, and familiar. Love those sounds.

Chip Flew Out Of the White Oak...man does that take me back to the late August evenings after a full day of hauling hay and sittin under a big oak tree re-hydrating. My grandfather enlightened me to that phrase that matched the songs tune...thanks for the memory Mr. Wire!

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
