We should start a GoFundMe page for the replacement of Mr. Wire's sacred flag. Who's down to donate if we start one? All excess funds will be contributed to the next Pier Picnic, or the pier itself!

Consider that they might have put your flag and pole in a place different from where you usually put it and it has been there all the time. It wouldn't have caught enough wind to have blown out of your truck if it were lying flat. Have you taken a fresh look, or are you sure that when you went to the truck bed it was just gone? Gremlins might have been working their mischief in your garage and just put it someplace different.
I know that people used to steal Elvis souvenirs -- anything belonging to him, they would grab. Maybe THAT'S the dynamic at play here -- groupies/Haywire devotees?

Mr. Wire, what is your standing with the IRS? They tend to take valuable things (>$4.76) when they have been angered...

Ye shall not despair, oh my friends. When I got a new flag this spring, they sold me a second one at a modest (very) discount. All I need is a flagpole---which I have---I just need John G to fit it for the holder on my cart. All will be well, especially if the water ever clears up and the fish start biting again.

Uh-oh!
It's a good thing you have a backup Mr. Wire.
I saw on FNN where the FBI spotted your flag being used as a prop at a near naked PITA protest
called "FREE THE FISHES"...

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
