I've never tried any other pier and would hate to learn another area(tackle shops, ect.) I'm sure the food would be be the easy part to replace. Just as would a place to stay. Sure hate to give my money to Florida.

It's my opinion that "small government" is code for less access and fewer services. I imagine that a lot of people will be selling, so property values will plummet. Maybe that's part of the scheme. If the pier closes, I'll need to find a new place, as well - with nice people, which is why I like the Gulf Shores area and the Gulf Shores Pier!

I believe the survey is only accessible via the original Al State Parks email or newsletter link.
It is a one question survey.
Would you support changes to the Alabama State Constitution protecting State Parks funds from being transferred or otherwise used for anything else, and possibly funding Parks through new means.
Time to strengthen the survey by calling/emailing your state reps and letting them know directly.
I just did, your turn now.Ragnar Benson:

Just took the survey on the GSP web site was 10-15 minute questionnaire from everything concerning whats going on in and around the Park. Suggested that if possible that the state take over control of the pier camera that's been out going on 3 years now believe would be great publicity tool. Also about sharks know probably barking up the wrong tree but why we can't harvest them as in Florida.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
