as long as the gas supply is there too....worthless with out fuel, and places can't pump if they don't have power....the neighbor learned that the hard way and had to drive a distance to get some, and those stations were packed with drivers wanting fuel
I have a backup but most of the time it is a loaner to neighbors that extension cords won't reach ....across the street
I play unplug and plug in switch to the next after a hour or so,,,,just to keep the fridge's running and freezers maybe a light or TV for the neighbors....I have saved many pounds of food for the neighbors during outagesBill..............

It didn't get too bad in Montgomery just a lot of wind and some rain. As far as inland goes, Opal was much worse for us. We didn't have power for a week.

Roy's response was classic. Had my good laugh for the day.

Opal cost me a car I left down there. That bitch filled a Mazda 626 with sand up to the steering wheel. Took me 2 hours to dig out enough to get a tow truck chain hooked to it.
Shoveling wet, packed sand will test your heart.Screw it. Let's ride.

I believe he was asked what he remembered from the storm. His response: "Heck, I don't even remember what I had for supper last night!"

LOL! Luv it ;-)
Your response was very good Justin.
If any good came from that storm, it was our new pier!

My family stayed in the motel a couple times and loved it. wonder if that will ever be built again?
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
