Thanks for the advice John and Flyguy. With the rate I move on some of my projects I should have this one done by fall, or maybe next spring.

John (and others) you were right, 18.5 is pretty close to perfect. I tried fishing with a long handled (22") surf rod and after an hour or so of casting it was just getting in the way. Stock length is pretty close to as good as it will get.
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
