We get a fair number of folks in BPS with similar questions about sizing up leader and crimps.
I just peel off a foot of leader and poke it through the plastic pouch and thru a sleeve (twice if it is to be doubled).
The hole is so small none of the sleeves will fall out.
That way the customer walks away confident and happy it was a good choice and not just guessing!
All you have to do is ask for help in most stores with a knowledgeable staff and they will be glad to assist you ;-)

    Hope this helps!

Therein lies the problem, David . Very few of the stores that I have encountered have a staff that is knowledgeable enough to help you ,though most do try . As far as big box stores BPS seems to have the best .

That leaves plenty of room to get the wire in and then crimp. I'm guessing 5 would be a snugger fit. Just make sure you get the AFW sleeves, the Hi Seas are different. I use the 1 sleeve on 30# which is what they recommend, when I use a sleeve. It works fine....just like they say.
ty rich. that was where i was getting the mess up. the sleeves i was looking at were the hi seas. hi seas have .71 for their size 5. i didn't pay attention to the brand of sleeves and was just looking at the #5. your answer cleared it up and i appreciate it very much. thanks to all of the others that have helped as well.
