The Rod Room is the place to go. You can find them here under "Local fishing links" in the right hand column.

Lure Parts Online or Jann's Netcraft. I've used both satisfactorily, Lure Parts has a little wider selection in some cases.

People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.

If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

I would just brush some quick dry epoxy on the threads and let it go at that.

Quick setting epoxies dry too hard, without enough flex to be a be a good finish for a fishing rod.

Sorry J, the guitar is not for sale. I inherited it from my uncle when we passed. It's my favorite, which is why get its a place of honor on the wall!

So I sent the guys over at the Rod Room an email asking for some advice. I'll update this thread as I move along!

rabidawise, if I may suggest, consider Rod Room. I suggest you bring your rod with you there and get a chance to talk to the owner, Kathy. She's the best rod builder.

Traxx, I have already emailed and gotten in touch with Kathy. It will be a few months before I get back down that way, and I am hoping to have the job finished before then.
